Three options are available. Teachers may assign a semester long, independent project to their student or conduct a self-guided group visit. If teachers prefer to participate in a guided field trip, please select from the options offered under School Programs.
Teachers guide their group around the Garden. This option is available on weekdays after 12:30 p.m. or on weekends during regular hours of operation. Self-guided visits are $3 per person, with an extra fee of $1 per person in the Fall and $2 in the Spring for visits to the Butterfly Pavilion. Self-guided visits must be booked at least 3 business days in advance. To book a visit, please complete the online request form by following the link on the left side of your screen to Register Your Group.
Often teachers assign a semester-long, independent project to their students related to a visit to the Garden. Students visit the Garden on their own during a specified time period. Teachers submit a roster of students to the Garden and the Garden tracks the students that visit the Garden. Independent Study visits must be booked at least 5 business days in advance. To book a visit, please complete the online request form by following the link on the left side of your screen to Register Your Group AND email your complete alphabetized student roster to TeacherRSVP@dbg.org or fax to 480-481-8189. Independent Study visits are $3 per person due on arrival, with an extra fee of $1 per person in the Fall and $2 in the Spring for visits to the Butterfly Pavilion.
Groups of at least ten students may select to take advantage of the guided tours developed for school field trips. Three of the tours are suggested for students in high school. Guided tours start at 9 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. on weekdays from October 1 – May 23. Guided visits are $5 per person, with an extra fee of $1 per person in the Fall and $2 in the Spring for visits to the Butterfly Pavilion.
