Being at Home in the Desert:
Homeschool Tour

Overview:
Special Homeschool Days allow homeschoolers from around the valley to come together for special guided tours just for homeschool students.  Parents are able to register their children for a tour specifically relating to the abilities of their child.  On Homeschool Days, all children and parents start together with a group activity and introduction.  Then, children and parents will be divided into different tour groups based on the topics they registered for.  This allows parents to give their older children the opportunity to participate in a more advanced tour while younger children are engaged in a tour that challenges them.  Parents may choose which child’s tour they would like to chaperone.  Tours will end in a shared location so families can reconnect before exiting the Garden.  During the tour, all guides carry radios so that parents can connect with their child if needed.

Basic Information:
  • Homeschool Day tours last approximately two and a half hours.
  • You can sign up for Homeschool Day by clicking on the Register Your Group link. When signing up, be sure to note which tours each student will participate in.
  • When you arrive, please check in with the school guide in the blue or red Garden shirt just outside of Admissions.
