Many of you are making travel plans now to enjoy Arizona’s beautiful weather and wildflowers. It’s difficult to predict exactly when the wildflowers will be at their peak, but if you plan to come sometime during March and April, you are sure to see some good blooming. As the temperatures get warmer toward the end of April, some of the more delicate flowers may fade. Then it’s time to look for the various cacti that come into bloom!

Every spring, the Desert Botanical Garden hosts a Wildflower InfoSite on our website during March and April. Reporters send us wildflower sightings from roadsides, parks, botanical gardens and arboreta covering the southern half of the state.

The first postings for the 2010 season will appear on the website Friday, February 26. Postings are updated each Friday through April, so visit our website again February 26 and look for the link to “Wildflowers” on our home page.
