Volunteers will help with discovery tables, crafts, stories, and face painting. Shifts are either 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or 12-3 p.m.
Groups are encouraged to help on a variety of Garden activities including mailings, festivals, special events and one-day projects.
Our Education programs serve over 40,000 school children each year and we need help preparing a variety of materials for tours.
- Preparing booklets
- Making “magic” bags for kindergarten tours
- Creating bead bracelets for elementary school tours
TEEN Volunteer Group - Teen Environmentalists Exploring Nature
This new program is made up of 12-17-year-olds who volunteer regularly at the Garden.

Volunteer Orientation classes will be held: Tuesday / September 9 / 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday / September 11 / 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday / September 13 / 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday / September 27 / 9 a.m.-1 p.m. You must attend an orientation class to be a Garden volunteer.
Special Events volunteers will be needed for the Fall Plant Sale, the Great Pumpkin Festival and the Las Noches de las Luminarias. Special Exhibits volunteers will also be needed for the Monarch Butterfly Exhibit.
Trainings are scheduled for: Thursday / September 18 / 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday / September 20 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Volunteer opportunities include weekday, weekend, morning and afternoon programs. There are exciting volunteer opportunities for youth, 12 years and older. TEENs – Teen Environmentalists Exploring Nature--volunteer at the Garden on an ongoing basis.
